Coding Experience

After six fulfilling years doing a wide-range of education and non-profit work, I decided it was time to dive back into CS for the first time since 2012 and teach myself how to code again. During the summer of 2022, I completed Free Code Camp’s JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures certificate and began independently working on App Academy bootcamp’s full-stack open curriculum (full syllabus here). Along the way, I supplemented App Academy’s JavaScript-focused coursework with learning TypeScript to keep up with industry standards. Through App Academy, I have also built skills in HTML/CSS and React. Check out my GitHub to see what I've been working on.

Teaching Experience

Before returning to CS, I was an educator for over 6 years. I have worked with over a thousand students from across China to the US. After completing a Princeton in Asia teaching fellowship at Shihezi University in Xinjiang, China from 2016-2017, I moved to Beijing to become Head of Art at Atlas Education, a project-based learning school. I built robust visual arts and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) programs from the ground up, after which I began working as a freelance educator. Since 2018 my work has included curriculum development, TAing anthropology classes at the Harvard Extension School, teaching AP Art History, research, personal statement writing, and test prep, working both privately and with a variety of organizations.
